"DARK NEST" - CONTEST UPDATE (Contest Closed December 1st) :
We have a winner! Persebunny the bunny picked Sharla's name to chomp on - Congratulatons Sharla!
Thanks to everyone who entered! Check back for the next holiday contest: - A STRANGELY BEAUTIFUL AUDIO BOOK CONTEST!

In honour of her 2009 Prism Award winning futuristic fantasy novella Dark Nest, Leanna has created a contest while she's working on the sequel novella, Dark Nest : Reckoning (Release TBA).
From Captain Temesia Elysse of the Dark Nest:
"Our ship and my people are under attack. It is a time to meditate on those you've loved and lost. It's a time to ruminate on your future. Hold your sacred items close. I offer you gifts from the sacred Dark Nest Reliquary to help you find peace."
How to enter:
The setting of the Dark Nest is really crucial to the atmosphere and attitude of the ship. It's built to look like a Gothic cathedral in space, utilizes cathedral terminology more often than ship terminology and remains the mother ship throughout both Dark Nest novellas. The rules are easy. All you have to do is name any word from Gothic architecture like those used in Dark Nest !
Winner will receive:
A selection of sacred items from the Reliquary of the Dark Nest as well as books by bestselling futuristic / sci-fi romance authors!
Submit your answers to the CONTACT FORM by December 1st and good luck!
Blessings!

Brush up your Shakespeare! A Percy Parker Pop Quiz!
From 8/25/09 to 10/1/09 entrants will use the “Contact Leanna” form to submit answers to 3 Shakespeare related references that occur in the first half of The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker. If the answers are correct, you’ll be entered to become one of two winners. All entrants will receive a bookmark and a Strangely Beautiful pin if mailing address is provided (your address will not be used for future promotion).
Winner receives either a beautiful silver, mother-of-pearl and gold-tipped Phoenix pendant (pictured above)-- a pendant just like a featured item and plot point in the novel-- or a $40.00 gift certificate to the bookstore of your choice! The first name drawn will decide between the two prizes and the second name drawn will receive the other.
Ready? Brush up your Shakespeare!
THE QUESTIONS:
1. What line and / or what Shakespearean play is being referenced by the actions and dialogue that occurs in the scene on page 23 that first introduces our ‘villain’ characters? The action the woman does with her thumbs and a line that follows later completes this reference. (Hint: The line is a title of a wonderful Ray Bradbury novel!)
2. In an early conversation with her friend Marianna, what’s the only Shakespearean role Percy thinks she could ever be fit to play on a stage? (Page 38)
3. Which of Shakespeare’s plays is being quoted on page 141 in the banner announcing the Academy Ball?
Got your answers? Use the Contact form and write your answers, along with your mailing address (US Residents only, please) and hit send! - Contest ends 10/1/09
Blessings and good luck!
